Today’s Topic: What’s New in Laravel 12

Laravel 12 comes with powerful new updates that make coding easier, faster, and cleaner for developers. One of the most exciting features is Laravel Reverb — a built-in WebSockets server that helps you build real-time apps like chat, live notifications, or dynamic updates without extra setup.

To help you find and fix slow database queries, Laravel 12 adds a new method called DB::profile(). It lets you check how well your queries are performing and helps you improve speed.

Laravel 12 now requires PHP 8.2 or higher, which means it no longer works with PHP 8.1 or older versions. Also, it uses strict types by default with declare(strict_types=1), which makes your code safer by catching type errors early.

The return types in Query Builder and Eloquent are now better defined, so tools like PHPStan and Larastan can give you better code analysis and error checking.

Laravel 12 also improves the way it starts up. The new bootstrap process is faster and cleaner, helping your app load quickly. Lastly, the Blade template engine now has better error messages and improved support for custom components, making front-end development smoother and easier.
